I SEE YOU CLEARLY

Produced via the Looking China Youth Filmmaker program, graduating international university film students paired with local Chinese graduate students embark on an intense fast-paced journey to highlight a cultural story of their assigned region. Navigating a barrage of complexities from working with the Chinese government in a multilingual and multicultural environment to filming and producing a finished product within 2 weeks in solo-production teams aided by non-filmmaking grad student "producers", the program is the ultimate culmination of degree knowledge in action. Placed in the Xinjiang cohort, production took place in Emin County with post-production in the regional capital city of Urumqi; the program culminated with a short film festival in Beijing highlighting student's work.
